Description of the village
Located with its districts Piazza Santo
Stefano, Rovenna, Casnedo at the foot of Monte Bisbino. Reaches from Punta del Pizzo to the Breggia River, is 5 km from Como and can be reached by bus and boat. One of the largest centers on the banks of the Lario.

History, curiosities, traditions
Cernobbio is known worldwide through the Villa d & rsquo; Este. The ancient villa was built by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio (16th century) and converted into a grand hotel in the 19th century. Of significant architectural interest for classicism are Villa Pizza dei Mugiasca, Villa Erba (exhibition building in the park), where Luchino Visconti lived, and Villa Bernasconi, one of the first Art Nouveau villas.

Worth seeing
At the lake the church of San Vincenzo with woodcuts from the 17th century. and a cotto facade (19th century). The church del Redentore is more recent (1924). Between the village and the Villa d & rsquo; Este stands the Madonna delle Grazie church. In it we find an altarpiece of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, a work by Recchi and a Descent from the Cross of San Carlo from the beginning of the 17th century. In Rovenna, an independent municipality until 1928, the church of San Michele was rebuilt in the 18th century. It contains a Romanesque processional cross and a wooden altar carved according to Barberini's designs.

Market day in Cernobbio: every Wednesday. At San Michele, the patron saint of Rovenna on September 29th, there is a goods and cattle market on the Sunday closer to the feast day.
