Valsolda tunnel now open

The new Valsolda tunnel, which took 37 years to complete, is now finally ready and was put into operation on October 11, 2012.

The car drivers and especially the bus drivers are very happy about this, because the dreaded bottlenecks are eliminated and a bus journey via Lugano Menaggio can now be conveniently implemented from Lugano via Menaggio for drivers on Lake Como it is now possible to drive without problems even in summer.

At the same time, thanks to the Vedeggio-Cassarate tunnel, the bypassing of the city of Lugano was completed and opened to traffic.
