Sagra del Bitto mountain cheese festival

The traditional mountain festival in honor of the famous cheese "Bitto", which is produced high up on the mountain pastures in summer, has been taking place in Gerola Alta for more than thirty years.

The Bitto cheese is considered the king of Valtelline mountain cheese, you can try this specialty, as well as other typical local gastronomic offerings, at the numerous stalls there.  

As with every real Italian folk festival, there is also music, dance and folklore as well as the award of the best bitto cheese.
