Mountain cheese festival in Gerola Alta

The traditional mountain festival in honor of the famous cheese "Bitto", which is produced high up on the mountain pastures in summer, has been taking place in Gerola Alta for more than thirty years.
Bitto cheese is considered the king of Valtelline mountain cheese, and you can try this specialty, as well as other typical local gastronomic offers, at the numerous stands.

As with every real Italian folk festival, there is also music, dance and folklore as well as the awarding of the best Bitto cheese.
