"Museo della Barca Lariana" Ship Museum

You can see a collection of over 160 boats, including rarities such as the SchnellMotorboot, which were once built by Abbate and other famous shipyards on Lake Como to escape the Italian financial and border police during the era of cigarette and coffee smuggling. Historical boats are also on display. Motoguzzi factory museum in Mandello

Off almost 80 years of factory history, fans will find over 100 series models here, as well as racing motorcycles up to 1957, the last racing year of the Guzzi, after more than 3300 victories. Art Museum Lugano

The Museum of Art is housed in the Villa Malpensata. The building, which was built in the first half of the 18th century, was opened to the public as a museum in 1973 after lengthy renovations. Almost 20 years later, in 1992, it was opened in its current form after further renovations. The museum regularly organizes important exhibitions of various content and form. Since 1992 these have been exclusively dedicated to the art of the 20th century, with a focus on expressionism. Museum Bigorio

The objects on display in this small museum come from various Capuchin monasteries. Some were used as household items, others were painstakingly handcrafted by the monks. Customs Museum

The Customs Museum is a faithful reconstruction of a border guard from the late 19th century. It contains the evidence of an activity full of dangers and hardships but also rich in ingenuity on the part of both the smugglers and the customs guards. Historical Archive Lugano

The historical archive of the city of Lugano is located in the Casa Carla Cattaneo and contains numerous manuscripts, a collection of prints, books and magazines as well as the bibliographical estate of Carlo Catteno. The following are also kept here: the estate of the Latvian writers Janis and Aspazija Rainis, the books by Carlo Battaglini and the art and architecture books of the Polito and Ezio Somazzi brothers, both architects.
