Swiss miniature Melide

The Swissminiatur amusement park, which is really worth seeing, is located in Melide on Lake Lugano. Everything is a bit small, just Switzerland and its sights in miniature.

The Swissminiatur is an open-air facility in Melide (near Lugano) that opened in 1959. In the Swissminiatur, 140,000 m & sup2; From March to November, over 120 models of patrician houses, churches, castles, monuments and other interesting buildings in Switzerland on a scale of 1:25 and in great detail can be admired.

Model making and ice rink fans Swissminiatur also has over 3500 m of tracks with 18 moving trains, cog railways, cable cars, suspension railways and ships. This park is therefore also an Eldorado for model railroad fans and, above all, very interesting for children. Surrounded by 15,000 types of flowers and over 1,500 trees, Switzerland can be explored in fast motion.

In addition to a play park for children, visitors will also find a self-service restaurant and a souvenir shop.

The park can be reached via the A2 motorway. It is located approx. 4 km south of Lugano on the Melide dam.
