Founded in 1982, the ship museum about the shipping history of Lake Como is located in a former spinning mill building from the 19th century.
You can see a collection of over 160 boats, including rarities, such as the high-speed motor boats, which were once built by Abbate and other famous shipyards on Lake Como for the Italian financial and border police, r & auml ; to escape the era of cigarette and coffee smuggling.
Also exhibited are historical boats, equipment and accessories from the 18th century onwards, which give an interesting picture of the shipping tradition here on Lake Como. You can also see the famous working and fishing gondolas of Lake Como, also known as "Lucia", which are rowed like a gondola while standing (see also regattas of the & ldquo; Lucien & ldquo;)
