Il Grappolo d'Oro - Chiuro Wine Festival

During the wine festival- "Il Grappolo d & rsquo; Oro" , which takes place every year in the first two weeks of September, everything turns in the narrow streets of Chiuro and the wine cellars of the wineries dum the great "red" wines of the Valtellina.
Chiuro near Sondrio, a village on the sunny slopes of the R & auml; tische Mountains, rich in history and culture, which thanks to its location is one of the most important centers of wine production in the Valtellina.

For wine lovers and connoisseurs of Veltliner wines, the wine festival is a very special opportunity to enjoy the & ldquo; open wine cellar & rdquo; and the wineries NEGRI , NERA ,
BALGERA , RAINOLDI all of them located in Chiuro, to visit and have the opportunity to taste the Veltliner wines at the producer.
You can not only taste wines, but also local delicacies, such as regional specialties such as bitto cheese or bresaola (dried beef), because they go well with a good glass of wine traditional delicacies. But also handicrafts and antiques from the Valtellina can be admired.
Numerous folklore, music and singing performances round off the program.

Worth seeing:
In Chiuro it is also very worthwhile especially the historic old town with the stately mansions in Via Rusca and Bogofrancone, as well as the parish church with the colonnade from the 12th/13th century and the oratory of the brothers from 1655 and the church della Madonna della Neve and by S. Carlo from the 12th/13th century.
