Sagra dei Misultin in Mezzegra

In mid-September in Mezzegra near Tremezzo, the small village on the lake celebrates the festival of the Lake Como fish specialty Missoltin every year.

A typical dish of Lake Como are the Missoltini, the feints fished in May. They are dried in the sun, then salted and stored in layers with bay leaves in the Missolta, a container with a weighted wooden lid. After a few months the Missoltini are ready to be drizzled with vinegar and oil after briefly cooking on the grill and served with roasted polenta and red wine.
