The
C & agrave; Bardassa is located in Fraciscio, a district of Campodolcino (1341 m. & Uuml; .M.). The name "Bardassa" comes from the nickname of one of the last owners. The building is owned by the Comunit & agrave; Montana della Valchiavenna and is used as an ethnographic museum, as a testimony to the well-preserved rustic mountain house.
The building is quite advanced in its style which is typical of the area (there were little houses in the village). The construction includes both the living area and the stable part. A single large gable roof made of & ldquo; pi & ograve; te & ldquo; (local stone slabs) covers the whole building and the gable, which lies roughly in the middle of the south facade, above the load-bearing partition and marks the separation between living space with a view to the east and the hay barn with a view to the south .
The basement includes four rooms for use in the stables: the larger two on the east side for the kitchens and the two smaller ones on the west side under the living rooms for the goats and pigs , Chickens etc.
The entrance to the house is in the western part and gives onto the central and spacious corridor & ldquo; & agrave; ndit & ldquo; which separates all rooms and in which the wooden staircase that leads to the upper rooms; umen leads, stands.
At the upper end (north side) on one side is the kitchen with stone walls and a large fireplace. The fireplace, which serves as the loading area for the tiled stove, also opens directly onto the corridor on the opposite side of the kitchen.
On the south side across from the corridor , the beautiful parlor with larch beams is located according to & ldquo; a c & agrave; rden & ldquo; Art (crossed beams) clad, inside it is provided with decorations and valuable fine work, outside with stone and mortar. The living room has direct access to a smaller room, the & ldquo; St & uuml; in & rdquo ;, which is heated by a stone oven, the opening of which is in the corridor. Above the living room is a room of the same size, also clad with wood and used as a bedroom; two more rooms are on the other side of the corridor. At the end of the corridor on the upper floor is the entrance to the hay barn, which is two floors high of the building. Halfway up, however, there is a curious element, a wooden portico that connects the corridor on the first floor with the outer portico on the south side and leads through the hay barn.
At the moment, this typical mountain house of the 17th & ndash; Can be visited at the beginning of the 19th century during the periodic exhibitions.
