Monte Generoso mountain railway

The mountain with the best view in the canton of Ticino. The top can be easily reached after a 40-minute ride on the cog railway. It starts in Capolago (274 m. & Uuml; .M.) And leads through untouched nature. At the top, a modern infrastructure offers catering options in the restaurant as well as overnight accommodation for individuals and groups.

From the & ldquo; Vetta & rdquo; from (1,704 m. & uuml; .M.), which can be reached in 10 minutes on foot from the train station, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake area, the Lombardy plains up to the Apennines and the Alps. The view extends from the Finsteraarhorn to the Matterhorn and from the Jungfrau to Monte Rosa. Nature shows itself at its best here.

Rare animal and plant species that cannot be found anywhere else have survived on Monte Generoso since the last ice age. The mountain also offers countless leisure opportunities: from simple hikes to climbing for experts, from mountain biking to paragliding and from observing the bird world to cave exploration.
