Model railway museum

The Galleria Baumgartner in Mendrisio Switzerland has set itself the goal of preserving private collections of model railways and other types of model construction in the long term.

The Model Railway Museum is also committed to promoting the hobby of model railways as an intelligent pastime for young and old. The model railroad layouts of TRIX gauge N, M & auml; rklin gauge HO and LGB gauge llm are particularly worth seeing.

Courses and seminars, auctions, stock markets, etc. are organized in the museum building for this purpose . In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum also presents innovations from manufacturers and designers of model railways and accessories. You can also see small model cars in various scales, replicas of the M & auml; rklin models, the collection of Arnaldo Pocher, models of old sailing and steam ships to the modern motor ships of the Lake Lugano shipping company.

The visitors are actively involved: they can drive on the routes of all gauges with their own rolling stock, if it is compatible with the existing facilities. The Baumgartner Gallery also gladly accepts old toys as a loan or donation in order to exhibit them.
