Christmas crib XXL in Gravedona

Since 2012 the Pro Loco in Gravedona has been in the church Chiesa della Madonna della Soledad, on the Piazza Mazzini directly on the lake promenade,   a huge Christmas crib .  

Unfortunately, 2019 may end structural safety reasons, the Christmas crib XXL cannot be visited. As the municipal administration learned, the nativity scene will be set up again in a special building in time for Advent next year and can be viewed again.

The large nativity scene was created over many years by the local artist   Giacomo Brambilla . The gigantic Christmas crib was originally in Colonno on Lake Como until 2011.

The XXL crib representation covers an area of over 120 square meters with 1,300 figures, 750 of which are movable Figures showing the various types of trades from the 14th century. to this day.
A true work of art, which depicts landscape scenarios in typical Neapolitan style, as well as a faithful replica of a Walser village.

The huge nativity scene includes:
150 houses, 55 water mills, 1200 lightbulbs, 1650 electrical connections, 650 meters of electrical cable, hundreds of kilos of tuff, rocks and white sand, 3 electrical water- Pumps that move 13 square meters of water per hour, which are necessary to feed the river with water that crosses the nativity scene.
The entire nativity scene has been made by the artist Giacomo Brambilla in years of patient, minute handwork.

-from December 29 to January 10, 2016   from 2.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
-Saturday/Sunday 16 and January 17th, 2016 from   2.30 p.m.- 7 p.m.
-Friday/Saturday/Sunday 22.23.14. January 2016 from 2.30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
