The city of Como was originally a Roman and now a modern metropolis. The history of the city of Como that we know

Romans have Como in
59 BC. BC founded. Even if the area was

After the fall of the Roman Empire, Como is invaded by Goths, long bards and Franks. 1127, during the war with Milan, it is defeated and destroyed. It allies itself with Federico Barbarossa and is being rebuilt; it takes part in the destruction of Milan in 1162.
Between 1300 and 1400 Como is under the rule of Visconti and Sforza.
